10 Best Headphones under 100$ – 2019 Reviews

1. Sony MDR7506 – Best Headphones Overall Under $100

Sony-MDR7506

Are you an old school kind of person then this vintage design headphone Sony MDR 7506 is great sounding with Excellent mids and highs, solid lows. They are closed-back, open-ear full-size headphones for all kinds of music genres. You don’t feel wearing them as with the simple flat headband you can comfortably wear them for hours. The replaceable ear cups are little smaller but still fits most.

In terms of durability, this is the best option compared to other headphones as others won’t even stay around for the long haul, or their ear pads disintegrate. They only weigh 8 ounces which are slightly lighter than average full-size headphones. The plastic materials don’t feel flimsy and out ear cusps are also made of metal.

The noise-canceling is at the very best, no one near you hears any voice escaping this headphone. It has a 10-feet long coiled cable which is permanently attached to the left ear cup. Unfortunately, it is not detachable and we didn’t like that.

Pros:

  • 90-day warranty
  • Great Sound Quality
  • More Durable than any other
  • Replaceable ear cups

Cons:

  • Undetachable Long cord
  • No built-in microphone for calls

Sennheiser-HD280PRO

You know we think that this is the best option if you are looking for over-ear models. This model feels light on your ear and doesn’t fall out easily. You will feel comfortable around your ear even if you use it for a long time listening to music. You may feel that it is tight in starting but will adjust to your head size as time passes. It has a padded cushion on each side which gives you extra comfort for all ear sizes, even good for people who have sensitive ears.

Talking about sound, it has an impeccable sound quality with high bass for loud music like pop. You will feel every song in crystal clear & HIGH DEFINITION sound. If you are an audio professional sound mixer then this is good for you due to the passive noise isolation feature.

It is made from high-quality plastic and lasts long. The pads given for ears are replaceable if damaged. You can fold it from its ears and keep it in your bag which takes very small space. It comes in the only color black.

The HD 280 Pro from Sennheiser is a wired model with a cord length of 3.3 – 9.8 feet. It supports MP3, iPod, DVD, and CD players as well as mobile phones with a 3.5mm jack plug. The cable is too long and undetachable which doesn’t make this a good travel companion.

  • Comfortable ear pads
  • Good for home/closed space only

This less than 100$ noise-canceling headphone from TaoTronics is also you need while traveling. Audio-Technica-ATH-M40x

You know what I am a big fan of Audio-Technica when it comes to bass headphones and that too below $100. I really liked the music with high bass hence I too have this headset. Just love it.

This is a closed-back over-ear headphone, especially for professionals. It is used by DJ’s for Mixing & Tracking. They produced exceptional bass, mid and treble range. It is made with pro-grade materials and hence feels robust in construction and solid built.

This studio look headphone has an amazing sound quality. M40X provides a very well balanced overall sound experience. It has more padding on ear cups as compared to other headsets in this list due to the high bass performance of Audio-Technica ATHM40x. We also liked the headband adjustment mechanism which is very strong but still feels comfortable. Guess what, the sound isolation so damn good that you don’t even need to turn the volume up too much on airplanes.

6. 66 Audio – BTS PRO – Best Headphones Under $100 For Running

BTSPro

I am a fitness enthusiast so a few months back I was looking for a new pair of headphones for running. I was looking for something in my budget which is $100. So I tried many, Plantronics Backbeat Fit, the JLab Epic 2, the Jaybird X2, the Mpow Shell and this 66 Audio BTS. Even though I am fond of ear-buds that go in-ear but for running purpose I like to go for over-the-ear headsets.

There are so many things I liked about these headphones which stands out in several key facts. First I liked its battery, these BTS Pro earphones provides 40 hrs playback with a single charge with an unmatched wireless range up to 100 feet. Isn’t that stunning?

Other Bluetooth headphones give you only 30-feet range but the aptX 3D antenna tech used in this model provides more than that.

If you really want to have a headset with good sound quality and bass while running, this is a must-have. We have tested this model for sound quality and bass performance with bass music from Spotify. It also features a noise-canceling built-in microphone for hands-free calling. The memory foam earpads are very cushy and soft to listen to music for a long time.

The one-click playback controls allow you to control the music, or even pick a call with the soft press. They come in 2 designs, Electric Green or powerful Lava Orange. They have Motion Control app for ios and Android to smartly control the sound output.

Pros:

  • 40 hrs battery backup
  • 100 feet wireless range

  • Flexible ergonomic neckband
  • Amazing customer service

Cons:

  • Heavier than most
  • Avg material quality

7. TREBLAB Z2 – Best Headphones Under $100 For Working Out

TREBLAB Z2

Have you ever felt goosebumps in the gym from a loud HD sound? Probably not because you never have that kind of headphones with you. This wireless headset Treblab Z2 with its Advanced Sound 2.0 Technology and aptX neodymium-backed 40mm speakers gives you the feel of real sound. For us, this is the best headphones for workout freaks below or equal to 100 USD budget. This is the 2nd in our list with the highest battery backup of 35 hrs after 66 Audio – BTS PRO who has 40 hrs.

When we want to listen to our fav music in the gym, we can’t do due to the gym music system sound which is pretty loud. But this headphone has T-Quietr active noise canceling feature which blocks the external sound coming to your ears so that you can focus on your workout without any distractions. For that, you need to turn the ANC function ON. It doesn’t slip while working out.

The 620 mAh battery takes up to 3 hrs to charge. I think it is acceptable as they are providing a long playback time. The company claimed it to be water-resistant and sweatproof with IPX4 technology.

Treblab Z2 is backed by a 1-Year Warranty and Lifetime Support. You will get a headset, carrying case, USB charging cable and aux cable in the box.

Pros:

  • Good sound and strong bass
  • 35 hrs continuous playback time
  • Fit and hold during exercise
  • Water-resistant and sweatproof

Cons:

  • Headband is a little small
  • Charging takes time

8. Logitech G533 – Best Headphones Under $100 For Gaming

Logitech G533

Logitech already has a gaming headset G933 Artemis Spectrum which is best in the game but a bit more costly. As we are talking about less than 100 bucks wireless gaming headset, Logitech G533 will still give you the same feel and performance. For most of the gamers, sound quality doesn’t matter but still, it provides generous sound with good battery life & comfortable fit which makes it very attractive.

On talking about gaming performance, we used it for 4 different games with various audio options it has. We tested it for Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone and Marvel Heroes for different audio profiles. We used surround sound for overwatch and witcher 2 which makes the gameplay very immersive. While for Heroes of the Storm and Marvel Heroes we used stereo sound, we feel the real depth to the sound.

The ear cups size is so big that it can adjust to any ears and flexible as well. Although it is heavy even after using it for a long time playing games it felt comfortably soft due to its mesh-fabric ear cups. We didn’t even notice the headset was there.

Although it also feels good sound for music it is definitely not made for music. As it doesn’t have any equalization options for music genres. Moreover, after lacking 3.5 mm jack, it must not be your primary choice of music headphones for that you can go with Sennheiser HD280PRO.

We liked the number of features G533 provides. You can measure battery life, turn off and on surround sound, change equalization options, and audio profile settings for individual games.

Being a wireless headset for gamers, it has only 16 hrs of battery life with a single charge and 30 feet range. We still feel that this is best under 100 bucks headset for gamers.

Pros:

  • Comfortable fit
  • Great sound
  • Different Audio profiles for individual games
  • 30 feet wireless range

Cons:

  • No audio jacks
  • Not good for music
