7 Best Gaming Monitors Under $300 – 2019 Reviews

Best Gaming Monitor Under $300: ViewSonic XG2402

ViewSonic XG2402

There is a strong reason we have ranked The ViewSonic XG2402 as the best gaming monitor under $300. For you to have amazing gaming experience in budget, you need a monitor with minimum 1080p resolution and this monitor has that. You will get 1ms response time which pretty fast in this price range and 144Hz refresh rate you may not get in another monitor at this price. With Freesync technology and dynamic refresh rate, you won’t see any image tearing or stuttering. Due to its low input lag, you can play games in real-time without any delay in the commands.

As this is a TN panel monitor means the picture quality is decent as compared to IPS. Also, it has restricted viewing angles means it will affect the quality of the image which may appear darker or lighter on the upper or lower side of the screen. Due to its Black Stabilization feature, you will see more details in dark scenes with enhanced visibility.

Overall for a budget monitor, this is a decent gaming monitor and provides all the important features required for decent gaming.

IPS Alternative: DELL P2417H

DELL P2417H

Dell P2417H has wider viewing angles due to its IPS panel as compared to ViewSonic XG2402 which is an issue for people in that monitor. This one has the same resolution and screen size which is 1080p and 24 inch respectively but the refresh rate is 60 Hz and response time is 6ms which is very high even for the decent gaming experience. This IPS monitor is not the option for advanced gamers but still provides an average gaming experience.

It doesn’t have Freesync or dynamic refresh rate like Viewsonic but with its low input lag, you can play some average games. By now you must know that ViewSonic is the best gaming monitor under $300 but if you only like wider viewing angles you can choose this one.

Best 27-inch Gaming Monitor Under $300 – ASUS VG278Q

ASUS VG278Q

ASUS VG278Q is the perfect 27-inch gaming monitor which has many features which are must for competitive gaming which makes it one of the best monitor. This is the first monitor to come with G-sync and compatible Freesync to launch in 2019. For a game point of view, we need fast response time up to 1ms and a refresh rate of 144Hz for playing fast-paced games. With the quick response time and amazing refresh rate, you will be able to see the crystal clear content and with no pixels breaking.

Although most of the gamers would like to go for 1440P, but if you get even 1080P resolution with other amazing features in this price range, I personally will not mind it even once. Being a TN panel you won’t get the amazing picture quality like other Panels have also it doesn’t have wider viewing angles which may annoy some gamers.

If you are a serious gamer, play competitive games then this is the monitor you should consider because TN panel has the fastest G2G response time. These panels are not rich in color and have bigger contrast ratio as IPS or VA. But if you are a competitive gamer who like fast-paced games rather than focus on color and contrast ratio then this is the one to go for. It has all the things good size, fast, 1080p, 144hz refresh rate, reliable, and affordable display. We think that this is a great display for any GAMER and if you are like me, play fast and furious games then this monitor is for you. Some people may say that this is great for gaming only but not for anything else let me tell you can calibrate this for the all-around experience (photo and video editing) via the monitor’s OSD, and your GPU’s control panel.

Best Curved Gaming Monitor Under $300 – Sceptre C305B-200UN

Sceptre C305B-200UN

You won’t get to buy many curved gaming monitors below 300 bucks. Because most of these monitors which have good features have a big price. This Sceptre 30-inch Curved Gaming Monitor brags about up to 200Hz refresh rate, 5ms response time at 1080P resolution. It also provided Freesync support to remove any screen tearing and stuttering which may happen due to the difference in the graphics card’s frame rate and a monitor’s refresh rate. Due to the VA panel, it blocks the light from the backlight and provides higher contrast ration of 1,00,000 to 1 due to which you will experience deeper blacks or whites much better than other monitors.

The refresh rate here is of two types 120Hz which you can get by using HDMI 2.0 port and for up to 200Hz Refresh Rate you can get it through display port which is commendable at this price. Although the response time is not as fast we expected but still, in under $300 5ms response combined with 200Hz refresh rate removes any ghosting and blurring. The colors are vibrant but not as good as other high ends curve monitors. Also to reduce any strain on your eyes, you can reduce the blue light with the help of Blue Light Shift Mode.

32-inch Alternative – Samsung C32F391

Samsung C32F391

Samsung C32F391 which is a 32-inch VA panel with 1080p resolution. For a perfect gaming point of view, 1080p on a 32-inch monitor is pretty low DPI. It has wider viewing angles which required for such a big monitor. The response time 4ms which we think is not good for competitive gaming in 32-inch but for casual gaming it is good.

The Curve feature is cool in this affordable price range but it has a reflective display which creates a problem when background lights tend to get reflected and curve seems to collect more light than a standard monitor. With a 3000:1 contrast ratio color and brightness are good. You will get deep blacks and bright white to see even the darker or brighter scenes clearly.

We are disappointed with the refresh rate of 60Hz for such a big size curve monitor. It is surely not good for pro gamers to play at this beginner level refresh rate. It has Freesync Support and game mode feature which will enhance the gaming experience for you. Overall this is a good monitor for casual gaming if you like the big screen size.
