What is the difference between this and the 2008 Flash Lite Games Contest?
Essentially none at all. The Playyoo Games Contest is run in collaboration with the organisers of the 2006 and 2007 editions of the contest run at www.mobilecontest.org. The 2008 Flash Lite Game Contest is specifically for members of Flash Lite User Groups has its own hosted pages to provide continuity from early editions, but games entered through either path all end up in the same place. If you are an experienced Flash developer you may find the resources at the Flash Lite Games Contest site to be very interesting.
How can I create a game?
Playyoo supports Flash Lite games. You can create a Flash Lite game using Adobe Flash Professional, version 8 or higher (CS3 recommended). You must use the Playyoo Flash Extension to build your games. Games built without using the Playyoo extension cannot be uploaded. You can also create and upload a game using the Playyoo Game Creator.
What does the Playyoo Flash Extension do?
The Playyoo Flash Extension adds a function to create a new Flash game document which includes libraries which the Playyoo server uses to add both social features, such as top scores, comments and ratings, as well as pre-roll and post-roll advertising, to games before they are downloaded. Further information on this will shortly be available through developer channels.
What does the Playyoo Game Creator do?
The Playyoo Game Creator allows beginners and intermediates to create games using built-in formats and objects, and optionally adding custom content. Set the difficulty, make the rules, select or upload the graphics, and bingo!... you have a game you can call your own. Remember some of the most popular games of all time are the simplest.
Who owns the games?
You own your own games, and retain full rights over them. You may remove them at any time. While they remain in the Playyoo system, you agree not to enter into any agreement with any third party which would restrict access to Playyoo members.
So if MegaGamesCorp wants to buy exclusive rights to my game?
Congratulations! But before signing it over, please remove it from Playyoo. And please upload your next game!
